The Parish Choir Of Grace Church
"He who sings, prays twice."

The Choir of Grace Church welcomes singers aged 18+ and boys of any age whose voices have changed to join in our music making.
The Choir of Grace Church is a robed, volunteer SATB choir affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music. The Choir currently sings at High Mass each Sunday from September through June and rehearses before and after the Mass. Alongside the liturgical duties, The Choir also sings for special services and concerts. The adult choir is joined by our Choir School Choristers on the first Sunday of each month. Should you wish to sing in the Parish Choir of Grace Church or learn more, please email: music@gracechurchinnewark.org.

There has been a choir at Grace Church for over 160 years, starting with a men & boys’ chorus in 1854. Today, our adult choir, alongside our Choir School Choristers provide the liturgical music at our services and other occasions.

The Choir is open to all singers aged 18 or older, and to boys of any age whose voices have changed. The choir sings the Propers of the Mass to plainsong, and where appropriate will sing anthems and motets from the best of liturgical music through the centuries. The choir rehearses each Sunday at 9:00 am to prepare for the 10:30 am High Mass. There is a further rehearsal, following a short break, after the Mass. We hope that members will make singing at Grace Church a priority to enable a cohesive group dynamic which can develop and flourish. Attendance is required at services and rehearsals, and absences must be approved in advance by the Director of Music
Singers who wish to sing with the Choir of Grace Church should contact the Director of Music using the email above. All skill levels are invited to join us in singing!
